Do I need to buy ESRI software to run CoreMIS?
No, CoreMIS is a stand-alone application and runs independently without an external third-party application. It extends ESRI’s de-facto ArcGIS technologies and provides focused and easy-to-use solutions to the forest industry.
What if I have already invested in ESRI software? Can CoreMIS use these licenses?
Yes, although CoreMIS is not dependent on ArcView, ArcEditor or ArcInfo, it can leverage your previous investment by using your existing ArcGIS concurrent licenses. When deployed to existing ArcGIS Desktop users, CoreMIS does not require its Workstation licenses.
Do I need to purchase CoreMIS workstation licenses if I have fixed host ArcView 8.x or 9.x ?
Yes, fixed host ArcView 8.x and 9.x do not support topology editing and cannot replace CoreMIS workstation licenses.
Do I need to buy Phoenix Pro to run CoreMIS?
No, CoreMIS is a stand-alone product and has its own Desktop Database Engine. You can seamlessly integrate CoreMIS with PhoenixPro to offer a complete suite of forest data management solution. Alternatively, CoreMIS can be run with its own Desktop Database Engine or interfaced with your own information system to meet your information needs.
Can I take advantage of CoreMIS if I’m in a single-user environment?
Yes, CoreMIS is extensible and performs effectively in all intended environments, from a single user setting to multiple users in an enterprise.
Will I grow out of CoreMIS if my organization’s information needs increase?
No, CoreMIS is designed for scalability and has different editions available as your needs grow. It is compatible with both personal and enterprise (ArcSDE) geodatabases. You can enjoy a consistent experience across all three CoreMIS 5.0 Editions.
How much training does CoreMIS require?
CoreMIS is very intuitive and its training varies depending on your previous experience with spatial data. Generally, it takes two (2) days for a forest professional with minimal technical background to learn the basic usage of the application. A user can be fairly proficient to make the best of the software after a few weeks of practice.
How can I maximize cost effectiveness in the CoreMIS solution?
