Atticus Resource Consulting Announces Name Change and New Business Direction
Vancouver, BC - June 3, 2005 The name change comes after Atticus Environmental Services Ltd. (AES) was established last year to focus on Atticus Resource Consulting Ltd's ecological and forest inventory field services and seven (7) months after AES (Terga) was awarded a 27 month 1.8 million dollar (cdn) contract for the supervision and quality assurance of Mexico's National Forest Inventory.
"With the Company now focussing primarily on forest inventory, spatial data management and CoreMIS (proprietary software), the name change is a positive step to defining our new business direction to our clients. We believe the name change and change in corporate structure will allow us to serve our customers better and clearly identify our role with business partners as we continue to increase our commitment to providing cost effective spatial information solutions to our clients." said Warren Eng, President and sole owner of Atticus Spatial Information Management Ltd.
With the introduction of new government electronic submission reporting requirements for FTA and RESULTS two years ago, the company has worked with more than 20 licensees in preparing their spatial data to make successful submissions. In the past 6 months, the ASIM team has developed in-house tools and procedures for efficient and accurate transformation of road data to meet government ABR requirements.
"We have also integrated CoreMIS with DR Systems Inc's PhoenixPro forestry database system to provide a cost effective solution that meets both operational industry spatial information business needs and new government reporting requirements." commented Mr. Eng and further added that "in the coming weeks, our website, communication and marketing material will reflect our name change and new direction."
