Atticus Spatial Information Management Ltd. (ASIM) is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior GIS analyst to join our team at our Coquitlam office. The successful candidate will work with our GIS team to define, develop, and implement GIS and other computer based technology to projects, and coordinate with our Software Development team to implement our commercial software solution CoreMIS. As an integral part of the GIS team, the position requires demonstrated technical abilities in the areas of various ESRI technologies, Microsoft SQL Server or other RDBMS, and Windows programming. The position also requires strong project management, organizational and coordination skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Senior GIS Analyst, the candidate will be expected to:

• Analyze complex business processes in order to identify, develop and document user requirements;
• Design, develop, and maintain GIS databases, and implement GIS applications in a scalable architecture;
• Provide technical support of GIS and Microsoft technologies to project team and/or end users;
• Develop algorithms to streamline in-house GIS procedures and ensure adherence to standards;
• Provide excellence in internal and external customer service; focus on producing high quality results;
• Represent ASIM to clients, workshops, meetings, etc. as required.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate must possess the following:

• University degree or equivalent technical diploma in a related subject;
• 5+ years experience in GIS;
• 3+ years technical experience with ArcGIS family products;
• 2+ years experience in ArcObjects programming and .Net development environment;
• Hands-on experience with ArcSDE and geodatabases is essential.
• Previous experience in project management, implementation and client support is required.
• Good working knowledge of one or more of the following Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server;
• Well developed analytical skills and attention to details.
• Experience in web programming (html, xml, JavaScript) is advantageous.
• Experience in the forest or natural resource sector;
• Team-oriented approach;
• Self motivation and strong work ethic;
• Strong organizational skills.

Desired Skills:

The following skills are desirable, but not mandatory:

• Working knowledge of Workstation ArcInfo and AML;
• Good understanding of the ArcInfo library;
• Experience assisting in proposal preparation and grant application;
• Experience in database modeling;
